Our costumes utilize a wide range of professional, industry-grade FX techniques including layered acrylics, fabric dyes , inks and stains, sealants, weathering compounds, fabric-safe spray paints, and specialty blood and gel FX. Each piece is finished by hand to achieve realistic depth, texture, and camera-ready detail. Due to the nature of FX materials, we recommend wearing an undershirt or base layer for comfort. Dark Creations ATX is not responsible for individual skin sensitivities or allergic reactions.
Wait times vary depending on the complexity of the costume and whether the item is Ready-to-Ship or made to order. In our high season (after Feb. 1) costumes typically need a 16-24 week production time, and props 6-8 weeks. Due to high order volume, production times are only estimates and may vary. Refunds will not be issued for misunderstandings regarding timelines. If you need a specific delivery date, contact us before placing an order. Again, we do not provide guaranteed deadlines unless agreed upon before ordering. Custom builds and highly detailed pieces require additional time due to their handcrafted nature. We do not recommend washing our distressed costumes. Due to the layered FX, dyes, paints, sealants, and weathering techniques used, water will always find a way into seams, layers, and textured areas, which can compromise the intended finish and detailing. If light cleaning is necessary, we recommend spot disinfecting only using products such as Lysol or Febreeze, followed by air drying. Do not machine wash, soak, or submerge. Dark Creations ATX is not responsible for damage caused by washing, soaking, or improper care. Detailed care instructions are included with every shipped costume.

For our 15th year and the 2026 season, Dark Creations ATX will be placing a stronger focus on Ready-to-Ship masks, costumes, and props, including limited one-off builds and short-run releases. These pieces are created in advance and offered as finished, film-grade designs available for immediate purchase. We continue to develop new original characters, variants, and special releases throughout the year.
